How the electric auxiliary heater pump works on E31/E32/E38 (when it runs, the REST function) and its usual faults: leaking from the centre joint or restricting heater flow so heat only comes at high revs; shows dismantling the pump (four screws), bonding the cracked join with epoxy and renewing the 40 x 2 mm O-ring.
