Full remove-and-refit of the S54 VANOS with the oil pump disk, sealing-plate rings, piston seals and solenoid pack renewed; long tool list and timing-lock steps. Beisan quotes about 5 hours for a mechanic and 7+ hours DIY, and suggests pairing it with a valve adjustment.
