Troubleshooting a rebuilt E9 fuel tank sender that reads as a dead short. Check for rust and debris inside the unit, and remember the float runs on a special resistance wire, not plain copper. Members quote roughly 3-7 ohms full and 60-74 ohms empty (about 1 ohm per litre) and explain the wiring for the gauge and low-fuel warning.
