Repair / rebuildDifficulty: MediumSeveral threads agree

Repair the E30 M3 cluster: reflow or patch the board, or move M3 faces onto a 4/86+ E30 cluster

Most of the M3 cluster is shared with any E30 cluster from 4/86 on (the ones with the front coding plug). Only the oil-temp gauge, M bezel, rear case and speedo calibration are M3-specific. Dead lights or gauges are often cold solder joints or a hairline crack in a copper trace near the screw holes, which can be reflowed or bridged. If a gauge itself is bad, swap the gauge face or PCB from a donor cluster and keep your own odometer.
